There really is no "easy" solution for this. Something I did in the past (yes i did bite the bullet and snag an iphone after sprint turned my service off twice in one week because of a clerical error) is to make iCal my central hub for all calendaring and then publish all of the categories i wanted to sync with google calender to my webdav enabled shared hosting site. Once you publish a category you can subscribe to it in google calendar and it'll update any changes to make in iCal (one-way). If you don't have a webdav enabled server, you can also try doing this with google calender. Either way you'll still be syncing your treo.

As far as the mail feature of mobileme goes, by far the best thing you can do is get yourself setup with an imap email account and use the chatteremail client http://www.palm.com/us/software/chatteremail/ which supports something called "imap idle". This feature will "push" new email directly to your treo and is way better than anything I've been able to do with the iPhone thus far.

Let me know if you have more questions about this and I can walk you through some other ideas.

Thank you for this post. It's a total lifesaver!

How do you like your *free* treo? I personally wish I had an iPhone, but I'm on a budget. I currently am trying to find an easier solution for synching iCal, Google Calendar and my Palm Calendar all in one shot. I guess I'm trying to find a MobileMe like feature for Palm, one quick simple application. I'm using GooSync (to sync b/w Treo and Google Calendar), Spanning Sync (to sync b/w iCal and Google Calendar) and my Hot Sync cable syncs between my Treo and iCal (among other things).

Is there an easier solution?
